Dollar Tree
Dollar Tree receipt generator and template
A Dollar Tree receipt prints the store number, register, and transaction, rings most lines at the $1.25 price point with the quantity in front, adds multi-price items like $3 and $5 at their own prices, and closes with the tax, total, and card. If you lost yours, Dollar Tree can send a duplicate only for card purchases of $5.00 or more from the last three months, and the steps are below. To rebuild the record yourself, edit the example and download a printable PDF or PNG.

Anatomy
What Is on a Dollar Tree Receipt
A Dollar Tree receipt is short and repetitive by design. Most of the store still sells at $1.25, so a basket of balloons, gift bags, and plates prints as a column of 1.25 multiples, with the count in front when you buy several of the same thing. Since Dollar Tree expanded its multi-price assortment, some items ring up at higher price points such as $3 and $5, and they print at those prices on the same slip. The receipt names the store by number with its register and transaction, adds sales tax on the subtotal, and closes with the tender. If you lose it, what matters is how you paid: Dollar Tree can only provide a duplicate for a credit, debit, or EBT card purchase of $5.00 or more made within the last three months. The example mirrors a store in Chesapeake, Virginia, where Dollar Tree is headquartered. Swap in your own store and items and it becomes a receipt you can print or save.
- Store header
- DOLLAR TREE with the street address and phone of the store that rang the sale.
- Store, register, and transaction
- The store number, register, and transaction number. These identify the sale if you ask Dollar Tree for a duplicate.
- $1.25 item lines
- Each item with its count in front and the line total on the right, so four balloons at $1.25 print as one 5.00 line.
- Multi-price items
- Items from the expanded assortment at their own price points, like the 3.00 string lights and the 5.00 storage bin in the example.
- Tax, card, and return note
- The subtotal, sales tax, and total, the debit card with its last four digits and auth code, and a summary of the return policy.

Lost receipt
Lost Your Dollar Tree Receipt?
Dollar Tree has no self-serve receipt lookup for store purchases, and store receipts are not available in the Dollar Tree app. It does take duplicate receipt requests, with strict limits: the purchase must have been paid with a credit, debit, or EBT card, total $5.00 or more, and be no more than three months old. Dollar Tree says there are no exceptions for cash purchases or for smaller or older ones.
- 1Check that your purchase qualifies: paid by credit, debit, or EBT card, $5.00 or more, and made within the last three months.
- 2Find the store, date, and exact amount on your card or bank statement so the request can be matched to the sale.
- 3Open Dollar Tree's Duplicate Receipt Requests page and submit the customer help form with those details.
- 4Allow 5 business days for the request to be processed.
- 5For an online order, sign in to your Dollar Tree account and check Order History, or find the Order Receipt email sent when the order reached your store.
- 6If you only need to swap an item, a store associate can exchange it at the current scanned price without a receipt.
Keeping it for taxes? The IRS suggests holding on to receipts and other records for three years from the date you file, and longer for some. Read the IRS recordkeeping guidance.

A quick note on the rules: making a receipt shaped file for a mockup, a test, a class, or a lost expense you really paid is fine. Passing one off as proof of a purchase that never happened is fraud. Please do not do that.
FAQ
Dollar Tree Receipt Questions
Can Dollar Tree Look Up a Lost Receipt?
Only in limited cases. Dollar Tree can provide a duplicate if you paid with a credit, debit, or EBT card, the purchase was $5.00 or more, and it was made within the last three months. You request it with a customer help form and should allow 5 business days. Dollar Tree says it cannot duplicate cash purchases, purchases under $5.00, or anything older than three months, with no exceptions.
Are Dollar Tree Receipts in the App?
Not for store purchases. Dollar Tree says store receipts are not currently available in the Dollar Tree app. Online orders are different: your account's Order History and the Order Receipt email cover those.
Why Are Some Items on My Dollar Tree Receipt More Than $1.25?
Dollar Tree has moved to a multi-price model. $1.25 is still the main price point, but most stores now also carry items at higher points such as $3, $5, and $7, and those print at their own price on the same receipt.
Can I Return Something to Dollar Tree Without a Receipt?
You can exchange it, but not get a refund. Without the original receipt, Dollar Tree exchanges items at the current scanned price. With the receipt, you can exchange the item or get a refund to your original form of payment. Gift cards and prepaid financial cards cannot be refunded or exchanged.
Is This an Official Dollar Tree Document?
No. This is an editable template that follows the layout of a dollar store receipt. It is for mockups, tests, props, and rebuilding a record of a purchase you actually made, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Dollar Tree.
