What Is on a Motel 6 Receipt
A motel receipt is built differently from a store slip. Instead of products, a Motel 6 folio lists the stay: a room charge for each night at the nightly rate, dated, so a two-night stay prints two lines. The occupancy taxes come next, and in many places there is more than one, a state tax and a city or county tax, each on its own line. The top of the folio names the property and its number and carries your name, room, arrival and departure dates, and the folio and confirmation numbers used to find the stay again. The card payment posts as a credit and the folio closes with a balance due of 0.00. The example is a two-night stay at a Texas property, where the 6% state hotel occupancy tax and the city's hotel tax print as separate lines.
